Welcome to Ghent
In 2014, the first National Mastitis Council meeting outside North-America was organized in the city center of Ghent (Belgium). The National Mastitis Council is a not-for-profit professional organization devoted to reducing mastitis and enhancing milk quality. The NMC promotes research and provides information to the dairy industry on udder health, milking management, milk quality and milk safety. Founded in 1961, NMC has approximately 1,000 members worldwide, and holds an Annual and Regional Meeting each year.
We are excited to announce that in 2024, 10 years after the first, we will host the NMC Regional Meeting again in Ghent (Belgium). The meeting will take place in “De Bijloke”. “De Bijloke” is a beautifully preserved 13th-century building on the edge of Ghent city centre. Similarly to 2014, the programme will consist of a scientific programma, a technical programme, and a social programme. The scientific and technical programme will be a mix of scientific keynote presentations, technical transfer sessions, industry lunch fora, satellite symposia, and short courses.
The NMC Regional Meeting offers a very pleasant and collegial atmosphere and the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with internationally renowned researchers and experts in udder health and milk quality, and to network with relevant stakeholders from all over the world.
